<image:caption>Sneh Mehtani opened her first restaurant, “The Moghul Room,” in New York City’s Pennsylvania Hotel in 1983. Having no industry specific knowledge, she learned on her feet as she put together a remarkable group of chefs and gained respect from her customers and industry professionals alike. In 1990 she asked her husband, Satish, to help her expand to Edison, New Jersey, a small suburb of Manhattan that had relatively few Indian immigrants at the time. As the expansion continued, the Mehtani Restaurant Group became famous not only for its Indian offerings, but also for its Asian restaurants, trendsetting cocktails, beautiful banquet hall, and premiere off-premise catering services. In 2013, Sneh received the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association’s Restaurateur of the Year award, which recognized her not only for her success but also for her passion and drive. Sneh & Satish have dedicated their lives to providing their customers with delicious food and warm service, but with this award came time for retirement. Their son Shaun who recently took-over the family business hopes to raise the name of the Mehtani Restaurant Group in the world of hospitality by continuing his parents’ legacy.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Newsfeed - Wine testing fundraiser 2017 - JFK Medical Center</image:title>
<image:caption>Success often begins with the spark of an idea. In 1961, Mayor Anthony Yelencsics recognized the need for a community hospital in Edison to provide high quality, accessible care and create good jobs. That idea flourished and, in 1967, JFK Medical Center opened its doors to our first patients. Beginning with just 200 beds, JFK Medical Center introduced the region to a culture of excellence combining high technology and clinical specialists who deliver comprehensive and compassionate care. 50 years later, JFK Medical Center is now one of New Jersey’s most comprehensive facilities, having transformed from a community hospital to an award winning and nationally recognized expert in neuroscience and rehabilitation. Our growth and determination to meet and exceed the needs of our youngest community members to our senior population are stronger than ever as we add new clinical services, expand access to more locations and collaborate with our physicians in new and exciting ways. Today we acknowledge every gift donated to build the hospital – from local business, civic and social organizations to the township residents who went door-to-door collecting funds. Recognition goes to our donors, boards of directors, administrators, physicians, nurses, staff and employees, auxilians and volunteers for taking the vision expressed by the Mayor in a single phone call and turning it into a reality. JFK is proud to be an indispensable healthcare resource to the communities we serve.</image:caption>

One of Battista's sons, Joseph, and his wife, Esther, began working in the wholesale beverage industry in Paterson, NJ in 1913. We will cater to all segments of the population, including children, pregnant and nursing mothers and the elderly. Our contacts in India, New Zealand, the Philippines, the UAE, China, Canada and the U.S. are large food purveyors that typically feed more than 10,000 people per day. Packaging, transportation, storage and rotating menus are achieved through these experts in the field.</image:caption>

A street in Edison is named ‘Mehtani Way’ in recognition of an Indian American whose portfolio of restaurants has contributed to popularizing Indian cuisine and enriching the culture and economy of the township. As a prominent leader in the Indian community, Mr. Mehtani earned this honor by his humanitarian and civic good works on behalf of people in need around the world. Mr. Mehtani arrived in the U.S. in March 1970 from India where, as an engineer, he had won a ‘Gold Medal’ for the construction of an Indo-Swiss Training Centre for Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. In the first year as an agent in the insurance industry, he broke the 125 year old sales record in New York Life Insurance Company. After that he ventured into the hospitality industry with his wife, Sneh Mehtani, and opened a chain of eleven (11) fine-dining Indian and pan-Asian restaurants in New York, New Jersey and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. US Congress majority leader Dick Gephardt saluted Satish Mehtani for his humanitarian missions around the world. In 2008, he launched Edison Day Care Center in partnership with Dr. Patel to provide relief and comfort to seniors, the most vulnerable segment of our society. In 1991, Mr. Mehtani provided humanitarian disaster relief on a major scale in Kuwait, earning the praise of the Kuwaiti royal family. Following September 11th, his staff made 10,000 meals for rescue workers and set up the food distribution on the site. In 1992, Mr. Mehtani was appointed as co-chairman of the National Finance Committee by President Bill Clinton, becoming the first Asian American to hold this vital position. After the tsunami and earthquake in Japan, he and his associate Gita Patel distributed thousands of CDs of healing music to help victims of trauma and depression. “I have done my best to help the needy in the community where I live and work,” says Mr. Mehtani. He arrived in the US in 1970 as a civil engineer from New Delhi, but found himself working two non-engineering jobs — as a bank teller and a retailer. In a multifaceted career, he has cobbled together an empire of eight restaurants and has become something of a political rainmaker, raising $2 million altogether for Bill Clinton, Bill Bradley and others.</image:caption>

<image:caption>CLINTON FOUNDATION Dear Satish, I was so touched by all the birthday messages I received last week – and I just wanted to say thank you. More than 35,000 people made my birthday special by sending in messages of support for the Clinton Foundation’s work – work that truly wouldn’t be possible without people like you. From connecting Malawian farmers with essential tools and resources to helping U.S. communities live healthier, I know I have you to thank for improving the lives of so many people around the world. After 67 years, I have learned that by working together we can do more than any one of us could do on our own. It’s the best birthday gift to know that you share our commitment to building a better world, and that I can count on you to help us improve even more lives in the months and years to come. Thanks you again for everything you do.</image:caption>
